There are many opportunities for volunteers at our museum in McMinnville. Volunteer opportunities include:
Docent:
- Greet the public
- Protect the exhibits
- Provide security in the Museum
Processing of Artifacts:
- Accessioning
- Cataloging
- Preservation
Education Programs
- Pioneer Days
- Travelling Wagon Program
- Curriculum development
Events:
- Planning for events
- Set up and clean up for events, staffing booths, etc.
Library / Archive / Research:
- Assist patrons with research questions, filing and special research projects for exhibits work
Maintenance:
- Keep the displays and exhibits in the Museum clean and in good repair
- Assist with after event clean up and other duties relating to the upkeep of the Museum
Administration:
- Data entry, correspondence, filing, etc.
Marketing:
- Photography
- Content development for brochures, website, and newsletter
- Promotional material for special events
- Public speaking duties
Restoration:
- Requires special technical knowledge to work on agriculture and other equipment belonging to the Society’s Permanent Collection.
