Ike Bay, lead blacksmithing instructor, shares about the history of blacksmithing, as well as the purpose and use of the blacksmith shop at the Heritage Center. It started many years ago with a simple portable set-up in the Heritage Center shop for demonstrations to Pioneer Days students. From there, the blacksmith shop was built and the program has grown with it. Learn about this craft and how more adults and youth are becoming skilled in blacksmithing through classes taught at the Yamhill Valley Heritage Center.
