Yamhill Valley Heritage Center 11275 SW Durham Lane, McMinnville, OregonThe Oregon Pioneer Association was formed in 1875 to create one central organization from the several pioneer groups that had been active since 1850. That Association became the Sons and Daughters of Oregon Pioneers in 1897 and incorporated in 1901, with the purpose of keeping the spirit, memories, and stories of our forebears alive for future generations. The original Association also formed the nucleus of the Oregon Historical Society.
Farm Fest 2020 – CURRENT EVENT CANCELLED
Yamhill Valley Heritage Center 11275 SW Durham Lane, McMinnville, OregonFarm Fest 2020 happens April 4 from 10-4pm at the Yamhill Valley Heritage Center Museum in McMinnville Oregon. It is the Largest plowing competition with draft animals on the West Coast with 20+ teams of draft horses and mules. The Oregon Draft Horse Breeders Association co-sponsors the event and will manage the competition in both our North and South fields. The entire Yamhill Valley Heritage Center campus will come alive with many activities. Vendors will be on hand with their wares. Historical displays and demonstrations will be available for viewing including the Sawmill, Blacksmith Shop. Also view the ongoing restoration of our Peerless Steam Tractor Engine. The Plowman’s Café will be open with a wonderful assortment of food. Live music is scheduled throughout the day and plan on visiting the hand’s on Pioneer Kids’ activities that are sure to please. Don’t miss it!
