We are kicking the day off with a pancake breakfast that you won’t want to miss. After breakfast join us for haying demonstrations using antique equipment, hay and baseball related activities, music, and then cheer on the YCHS Gristmillers as they play the Portland Pioneers. What better way to end the day then with a good ‘ole fashioned base ball game 1880’s style...NO GLOVES! 8:30am—Pancake Breakfast (Additional Fee $10) 10:00am—Haying Demos 12:00pm—Live Music 1:00pm—Baseball $5 General Admission Free for Members & kids under 12 No Pets. This talk will cover key concepts from linguistics and critical applied linguistics as a means to dispel myths about language that impact our everyday lives. This talk aims to teach an understanding of linguistic diversity, sociopolitical aspects of language use that lead to linguistic discrimination, how linguistic discrimination works and how it reflects our beliefs about language, also known as language ideologies, and how to combat misinformation about language to create more equitable outcomes in varied contexts, particularly for minoritized language users.
