The Adventures and Exploits of Ewing Young with Doug Root, Ewing Young Distillery. Doug will explain how events in Ewing Young's life helped to establish American settlements in the Oregon countryside. He will also explore how and why the Newberg area became the hub of the 'modern' history of Yamhill County beginning in 1834, and how Ewing Young's distilling efforts in 1837 opened The Oregon Trail.

Self-Guided Historic Architecture Tour Take a self-guided tour of Yamhill County's treasured architectural gems while supporting children in our community. The Solid Foundations Tour, an annual fundraiser for Yamhill County CASA, celebrates the unique architecture that defines our area and CASA's mission to crete solid foundations for children in need. The 2025 tour features six stunning McMinnville properties, from a charming mid-century cottage to a historic hotel-turned-theater. Don't miss this opportunity to explore these captivating spaces and support a good cause.

Join us at Farm Fest & Plowing Competition for a day of old-time farming with 20+ teams of draft horses and mules, see demos and meet the teamsters. Horse-drawn and antique equipment displays, Pioneer Kids’ activities, tours of the museum and 1880’s Hutchcroft School, old-time music, food, and more! 10am-4pm. Admission $10 adults, kids 12 and under free.

Hay Day / Play Day 2025 June 21, 2025 8am-3pm Ready to play?! We are kicking the day off with a pancake breakfast that you won’t want to miss. After breakfast join us for haying demonstrations using antique equipment, hay and baseball related activities, music, and then cheer on the YCHS Gristmillers as they play the Portland Pioneers. What better way to end the day then with a good ‘ole fashioned base ball game 1880’s style...NO GLOVES! 8:30am—Pancake Breakfast (Additional Fee $10) 10:00am—Haying Demos 12:00pm—Live Music 1:00pm—Baseball $5 General Admission Free for Members & kids under 12 No Pets. Do I Have an Accent? - Dispelling Myths About Language Through Critical Applied Linguistics with Dr. Valeria Ochoa, Oregon State University. This talk will cover key concepts from linguistics and critical applied linguistics as a means to dispel myths about language that impact our everyday lives. This talk aims to teach an understanding of linguistic diversity, sociopolitical aspects of language use that lead to linguistic discrimination, how linguistic discrimination works and how it reflects our beliefs about language, also known as language ideologies, and how to combat misinformation about language to create more equitable outcomes in varied contexts, particularly for minoritized language users.
