Linfield Before It Was Linfield, 1858-1922 with Rich Schmidt, Linfield University Archives. In 1858, a five-page document was all it took to establish a Baptist college in McMinnville. The school didn’t become known as Linfield College, or feel somewhat secure about its future, until 1922.
